The
Magic of Color

Nothing
transforms a space more dramatically than color. The use of color
powerfully affects our moods - neutrals and soft pastels soothe and calm,
while bright colors stimulate and excite. Here are a few examples of
projects in varying styles that all use color to make a statement.

The
red of the living room walls creates a vibrant background for an eclectic
collection of art, accessories and oriental rugs. It also sets off the
white woodwork, giving the room a hint of tailored formality. The
furniture itself is in neutral tones, enabling one to easily change the total
"look" by simply repainting the walls.

Before
and After
The
rich blue walls of this small dining room totally transform the space.
Textured wall covering below the chair rail adds further visual interest.
This use of color enhances the warm patina of the furniture's wood tones.
The neoclassical dining table and chairs are classic and timeless in the
styling. The large, abstract painting by a local artist serves as a
dramatic focal point.

The
deep yellow tones of this dining room create a warm and friendly room. In
contrast, the use of a cool teal color in the drapes and accessories give the
room some punch.

Purple!
There's nothing like it to make a unique statement. The color of royalty,
it evokes strong reactions - you either love it or you don't. In this
dining room, the large custom designed purple and gray marble table base is the
focal point. The marble pattern is repeated in the wall covering in
picture box molding below the chair rail. The walls are painted a very soft mauve.
Every piece is equally unique, from the shape of the chairs, to the unusual area
rug. Purple pulls the whole design together.
