This living room is a study in relaxed elegance.  The overall design scheme is fresh and updated, although the individual pieces are all classic and timeless.  The furniture layout creates an intimate seating arrangement of two sofas facing each other.  A custom stained glass folding screen in the bay window behind one sofa is an interesting alternative to a window treatment.  The screen's floral motif was inspired by the oriental area rug.  The transom and sidelights surrounding the front door repeat the stained glass theme.  Note the design of the initial of the owners last name "B" in the transom - intertwined so that it reads correctly from both inside and out.  The iron material of the cocktail table, console and two torchieres all tie together.  Original artwork was selected for both its aesthetic and decorative value.

On the other side of the foyer is the dining room. Classic pieces in rich wood tones create a warm and inviting room. The walls are faux finished in green and gold. A hand-painted stencil in gold and silver just below the crown molding adds elegance.  Just enough accessories complete the look.
