This strip retail center is located in Purcellville, Virginia, in Loudoun County.  The 12,000 square foot project is located on a long narrow site in which the county planning and VDOT would only allow a single side entrance.  The seven shops share a space in a single building that was designed to appear as several with the creative play of roof lines and stepping the fronts of the building back as the lot narrowed.  Each end of the building is anchored with a tall vertical turret, allowing the building to definite its space.

 

The finished building successfully meets the design challenge of a long and narrow site and blends in with the Victorian character of the town.
